Freemasons believe in an ethical approach to life. Our values are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount. However, Freemasonry also teaches and practises concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.

  • A warm welcome from Neil Pedder

Hello. My name is Neil Pedder and I am the Chairman of the Widnes Group of Freemasons.

I would like to thank you for visiting our website today. I hope the content will be of interest to both to Masons and non-Masons who wish to expand their knowledge in all aspects of Freemasonry.

Freemasonry is an organization founded on the principles of honesty and integrity and endeavors to make good men even better. We are now encouraged to speak openly about our membership. Freemasonry is not a secret society and I hope our website will raise your awareness of Freemasonry and what it truly stands for. We are a charitable organization and always endeavor to provide donations to non-Masonic and Masonic charities alike, both locally and internationally.

Freemasonry is well established in the Widnes area with our oldest Lodge being formed in 1872. Our traditions have been upheld over many years; however we are continuing to move with modern times. The Widnes Group of Lodges and Chapters is one of 21 groups within the Province of West Lancashire, which is one of the largest Masonic Provinces in the World.
