The chapter was duly opened in the usual manner by the three principals, Geoff Enright first principal, Ian Edge second principal and Andy Maginn third principal. Once the initial chapter business had been completed Geoff asked the principal sojourner Mike Burwin to entrust the candidate.

Mike then re-entered the chapter with the candidate and the ceremony proceeded. Mike led Barry through the exaltation in a dignified manner and was ably assisted by first assistant sojourner Bob Winch. The enhanced explanations were read by the DC Neil Pedder and the prayers were read by Peter Carter and Norman Speed.

On completion of the ceremony Barry was seated in the west and the explanation of the signs were given faultlessly by Ian Locke.

The ceremony of exaltation being completed the three principals congratulated Barry and formally welcomed him into the chapter, hoping he would have many happy years of companionship in the chapter.

After the remaining business was completed the chapter was closed with the companions retiring to the Alan Locke Suite for a very enjoyable meal and good company.

Neil Pedder, Widnes Group Chairman, proposed the toast to Brian. He congratulated and welcomed him into the Royal Arch, saying that he would be a great asset to the chapter as he has proved to be since joining his Craft Lodge. Neil also presented Brian with an information booklet of the Royal Arch.

Brian responded to his health, stating that how much he had enjoyed his exaltation ceremony and was looking forward to his future in Royal Arch Masonry

The charities were honoured, with the alms plate raising £57 and the raffle £48.
